Link ED Solutions was created by two retired professionals who together have over sixty years of experience on the front lines of teaching and administration in schools for children and in workforce development for adults. They are also grandmothers who are gravely concerned about the state of public education in this country and where it is headed. They are offering ideas and smart simple tools that can help struggling or failing urban, suburban, or rural schools build or strengthen the cooperation they need from their school communities.
ABOUT US
Ellen Spencer

I am an educator with over 30 years of experience as a teacher, a founding principal, district office administrator, and principal in various classrooms and school settings, from wealthy public and private ones to high-need, low-socioeconomic ones. While a principal in a highly challenged school district, our school won a California Distinguished School award for our group efforts and achievements. I also had the unique pleasure of appearing on the Oprah Winfrey Show with one of the school’s donors.
My holistic approach, progressive ideas, and ability to create effective collaborative school communities made me sought after to coach new teachers and principals seeking credentials. While in Berlin, Germany, I benefitted from a two-year experience as a visiting educator at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development and Education, and teaching at the Berlin British School. These combined experiences have added to my capabilities in knowing what it takes to make a successful school.

I enjoyed an incredible and satisfying thirty-four year career with a global information technology corporation in sales, marketing and project management. My skills and expertise were well utilized in the application of technology for K-12 education, adult literacy and workforce skills training. I’m especially proud of an international training center in Washington, D.C. that I established for non-profit and non-governmental organizations and also provided consulting on education projects in developing countries. I understand the complexities of bringing people together to accomplish a challenging goal.
It’s been my honor to have served as the President of Training Inc., National Trustee Board, Vice-Chair of Georgia Workforce Investment Board, and Chair of the CobbWorks Workforce Investment Board. I also enjoy speaking to groups but especially young people about what’s important in life, the current environment, and preparing for their futures.
